Phase 2
Process
Carefully studying today’s conditions to shape safer, community-informed improvements for tomorrow.
Environmental Process
• Environmental analysis • Early Preliminary Engineering Design • Coordination with partner agencies • Public Outreach
The RTC and NDOT are conducting technical environmental studies and public outreach as part of the planning process for the Reimagine Boulder Highway Phase 2 project. These efforts support preparation of the project’s environmental documentation and help inform decisions about future improvements. The RTC will coordinate with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to determine the appropriate level of environmental review required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
The study will examine existing environmental, social, and economic conditions along the corridor. It will evaluate potential effects of transportation improvements on traffic circulation, pedestrian and bicycle safety, access to businesses and community services, air quality and noise, cultural and visual resources, and environmental conditions within the project area.
Goals and Objectives
By improving safety and mobility for all users, and through coordination with NDOT, the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, and the FTA, the project supports the region’s long-term vision for a safer, more connected, and transit-focused Boulder Highway corridor.
